How heavy is an 88-key digital piano?

Portable weighted models start around 10 kg — the Casio CDP-S110 in our catalog is 10.5 kg — while console instruments with a cabinet and three pedals are substantially heavier and are assembled in place.

Why hammer actions weigh something

A weighted action contains a physical mechanism per key. That mass is the point — it is what gives the resistance — and it cannot be removed without removing the feel.

Two categories

Slim portables around 10 to 12 kg (22 to 26.5 lb) that fit on a desk or a stand. Console instruments that arrive flat-packed and stay where they are built.

The practical question

Not how heavy, but how often it moves. A piano that never moves can be heavy without cost; one that goes to lessons cannot.

The questions players ask

Can one person carry it?

A slim portable, yes. A console piano is a two-person job and is not designed to be moved once assembled.

Does weight indicate quality?

Not reliably. It indicates the action mechanism and the cabinet, both of which vary independently of how the instrument sounds.
