Around a meter square for the rack plus room for the throne behind it — the Axus AXK4 in our catalog publishes 102 cm high, 117 cm wide and 96 cm deep with the throne, which is the kind of figure worth measuring against your corner.
Measure the depth with the throne
The rack footprint is not the space you need. A seated player and a throne add roughly half a meter behind it, and that is the dimension people forget.
Leave room to get in
A kit wedged into a corner that has to be climbed into gets played less. Half a meter of access changes that.
Published figures are rare
Most listings show a photograph and no dimensions. Where a maker publishes the assembled size, that alone is a reason to prefer it.
The questions players ask
Do kits fold away?
Racks fold to a degree, and folding one nightly is the fastest way to stop playing. Plan for it to stay assembled.
What about ceiling height?
Rarely an issue seated, but cymbal arms need clearance to swing. Sloped ceilings and cupboard alcoves are where problems appear.
