MS1078 base, MS1118 second tier, wheels. Base 250 lb; tier 60 lb, published separately. Tier width 19.5 to 35.5 in in 2 in steps, height 22.5 to 35.5 in in 1.5 in steps, angle adjustable. Two published ratings on two surfaces is what makes this different from everything else on this shelf. Seven of the twelve stands here publish no capacity at all; four publish one; this one publishes two, and the second is the useful one. Sixty pounds on the tier is enough for a 61-key controller at 5 to 15 lb, a synth at 10 to 30, a laptop at 3 to 5 — and it is a clear signal that a second weighted 88-key piano is not what the top shelf is for. Heavy instrument below, light things above.
The 1.25-inch square tubing figure is the other thing nothing else here publishes, and it is more important than it looks. A second tier is a clamp, and a clamp either closes on the tube or does not. Liquid Stands names MS1078, MS1080, MS1084 and MS1085 — and the first two are on this shelf in their own right. For every other stand here the answer is a tape measure, because no other listing on this shelf publishes a tube section: not the two AODSK Z-frames, not the Pyle, not the X-frame already here.
The 35.5-inch tier height is the other practical figure. It is the tallest published height on this shelf, and it puts a second keyboard at standing height above a seated one — which is what a two-tier stand is bought for.
Three costs, and the first is a genuine fork. At $159.99 this is the exact price of this maker’s stand-and-bench set on this shelf. Same base stand. One gives you a second keyboard, the other gives you somewhere to sit. That is the decision, and it is not a money decision.
The 60 lb tier excludes a second heavy piano, as above. And nothing is published about whether the wheels lock — on what is, loaded, the tallest and heaviest arrangement on this shelf. The cheapest wheeled stand here, at $44.99, states that its wheels lock; this one does not.
The product record gives 13,812 g (487.2 oz) for stand, tier and wheels together — the heaviest figure on this shelf, and unsurprising for three things in one order.
