M-Audio

Everything in the box, including the cables nobody counts

M-Audio is on this site twice, in two different families, with one consistent habit: the box contains what the product needs.

What we found writing the reviews

The BX4 ships with its cables and its feet. The connecting cable, a 3.5 mm aux cable, a 3.5 mm (0.14 in) to RCA cable, foam feet and MPC Beats. The feet are the part nobody thinks to buy, and they stop the desk itself acting as a speaker cabinet.

The M-Track Solo’s sockets are the reason to choose it. RCA outputs suit consumer powered speakers; studio monitors more often take balanced TRS or XLR. Which sockets your speakers have decides which interface makes sense, and this is the one for the RCA case.

One detail to plan for. The M-Track Solo’s headphone output is 3.5 mm, while nearly every studio headphone in this catalog terminates in 6.35 mm. That adapter costs almost nothing, and it is the sort of thing that stops a first session on the evening it arrives.

M-Audio does not publish a frequency response for the BX4 in this listing, and this site does not invent one.
